Cairo - Mubasher: Spain's investments in Egypt amounted to $24.3 million in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2020/2021, up 12.5% from $21.6 million in the same quarter of 2020.

The trade exchange between Egypt and Spain reached $2.1 billion in 8M-21, up 34.3% from $1.6 billion in the corresponding period of 2020, according to the latest data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egypt's exports to Spain hiked by 66.7% to $937.5 million in the first eight months (8M) of 2021, compared to $562.3 million in the year-ago period.

Meanwhile, Egypt's imports from Spain increased by 15.8% to $1.1 billion in the January-August period of 2021 from $988.1 million in the same period of 2020.

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first nine months (9M) of 2021, the trade exchange between Egypt and Spain increased by 23.8% to EUR 1.96 billion from EUR 1.58 billion in 9M-20.
