Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia created a new ministry for industry and mineral resources, separating it from the energy ministry, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The change was part of a series of royal orders by King Salman, issued just before the Islamic new year and reported Friday night by SPA.

Bandar Al Khorayef, to which the jurisdictions, tasks and responsibilities related to the two sectors industry shall be transferred, will head the new ministry and mineral resources.

Al Khorayef is a businessman and the chairman of Abdullah Ibrahim Alkhorayef Sons Company.

Accordingly, the name Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources will be changed to the Ministry of Energy.

Moreover, the Ministry of Energy will be in charge of the jurisdictions, tasks and responsibilities that were under the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources until the end of the current fiscal year.
