Saudi Arabia sees 616 foreign factories in Q1-18

Riyadh – The number of foreign factories operating in Saudi Arabia reached 616 at the end of the first quarter of 2018.

The capital of these factories amounted to around SAR 7.65 billion with 50,580 thousand workers during Q1-18, data by the Saudi energy ministry showed.

The number of operating factories in the kingdom totalled 7,630 in the three-month period ended last March, with 1.05 million workers and SAR 1.1 trillion in capital.

Riyadh has the largest number of factories, accounting for 41.1% of total operating factories in the kingdom during Q1-18.

The number of operating factories in Riyadh stood at 3,133 during the January-March period this year, with a total capital of SAR 128.95 billion and 401,140 workers.
