Saudi authorities have announced the opening of road projects worth SR1 billion ($267 million) in the kingdom's Jizan region, reported the Saudi Press Agency
 
The projects, inaugurated by Jazan Governor Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdul Aziz, include a 190-km road leading to King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz housing development sites, agricultural roads and upgrades.
 
Prince Mohammed was later briefed by Transport Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser and the ministry officials about the projects that had been approved and those being carried out on public transport, roads including their maintenance, and work at the new King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Airport, stated the report.
 
He was also briefed about the expansion of the existing airport to meet the needs of travellers, the services at Jazan and Farasan ports and their development projects, it added.
