Riyadh – The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) launched its production of desalinated water from the new Amlaj Desalination Plant project for Reverse Osmosis (RO) with an output capacity of 8.5 cubic metres per day.
The production volume will gradually increase to reach the planned maximum design capacity of 25.5 cubic metres per day this September, a daily increase of 12.1 cubic metres when compared to the plant’s previous production, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
This comes in efforts to meet the growing demand for water in Amlaj governorate and nearby villages as well as to enhance SWCC’s resources and support its development journey.
The project was implemented three-month earlier than its scheduled date, the statement read.
