Riyadh – Mubasher: Remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia declined 3.7% year-on-year to SAR 136.43 billion ($36.38 billion) during the full-year 2018, marking the lowest level since 2012, from SAR 141.66 billion ($37.78 billion), the Saudi Arabia Monetary Authority (SAMA) stated.

Meanwhile, money transfers by Saudis slid 7.7% to SAR 60.27 billion last year, compared to SAR 65.27 billion during 2017, the kingdom central bank’s added.

The remittances of expats levelled down 19.45% to SAR 11.31 billion in December 2018, versus SAR 14.041 billion in the same month in the year before, SAMA added.

The remittances of Saudis went down 7.66% to SAR 4.528 billion last month, compared to SAR 6.054 billion in the corresponding month of 2017.
