Construction work of the station has been implemented in two parts wherein the first part was concerned with constructing Ibri 400-kV grid station at a total cost of RO23 million while the second part of the project entailed building a double transmission line connecting new Ibri 400-kV grid station with existing Izki 400-kV station, reported Muscat Daily.
All construction works under this project have been completed and the station as well as power transmission lines have been successfully commissioned by the fourth quarter of this year, stated the report.
This project will enable OETC to enhance its transmission capabilities of the power produced from the 146-MW power generation station in Ibri to Izki 400-kV station, Sur 400-kV station in addition to Al Misfah 400-kV station.
The Ibri 400-kV grid station and power transmission lines will enhance OETC power transmission infrastructure and will give extra impetus to the company as it plans to link north Oman with Muscat through 400-kV station in Sohar with Rusayl and the new 400-kV grid stations to be built in north Oman, it added.
