Bahrain - A contract for the second phase of a seafront development in Muharraq is expected to issued by May.

Reclamation work for Sa’ada West has been completed with the second stage of development including construction of seven buildings, housing 45 shops and restaurants, in addition to a multi-storey car park to accommodate up to 500 cars.

The seafront property, endorsed by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, is being constructed by Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah), the real estate arm of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company.

Located at the entrance to old Muharraq, Sa’ada West will provide a promenade of family entertainment, sea-side dining and a marina.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam Khalaf toured the development site along with Edamah chairman Khalid Al Rumaihi, where they reviewed plans underway at the area.

“We expect to award a contractor for the second phase of the project by May 2018,” said Mr Al Rumaihi.

The shops will be linked to the traditional suq and the car park will relieve the parking problem Muharraq suffers from.

Phase two is expected to be completed by May next year and the seafront inauguration is scheduled for June.
