Doha:-QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, and  Mastercard, a leading technology company in the global payments industry, held a meeting recently to discuss the ongoing  relationship between both sides and best ways to improve mutual cooperation.

The meeting was headed by QNB Group CEO, Mr. Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari and Mastercard’s President Middle East and Africa, Mr. Raghu Malhotra, and attended by a number of executives from both teams. In this, they discussed the latest developments in the payments industry, in addition to highlighting key topics including e-commerce, digital, cross-border payments and security.

The attendees brought up the recent launch of QNB’s SME e-commerce platform which is supported by Mastercard Payment Gateway services and is the first service of its kind in Qatar and GCC. This is the latest and most innovative entry in QNB’s SME offering.

This discussion was concluded by the formal signing of the agreement to launch the QNB-Simplify e-commerce platform and plans for the partnership to deliver greatest benefit through implementing Mastercard’s innovative solutions in multiple markets that QNB operates in.

QNB Group’s presence through its subsidiaries and associate companies now extends to more than 31 countries across three continents providing a comprehensive range of advanced products and services. The total number of employees around 28,000 operating through more than 1,200 locations, with an ATM network of more than 4,300 machines.
