Jordan - Philadelphia Solar company said its consortium with Ahmed Badawi Electromechanical Contracting Company has been awarded a contract to develop a 4.6 MWp solar PV (photovoltaic) project in Jordan.

The project, being implemented by the University of Jordan, is the largest of its kind in Jordan and one of the fifth largest solar PV carpark projects in the world, said a statement from the Amman-based company.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Prof Abdulkarim Al Qudah, President of the University of Jordan, Adnan Badran, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Jordan, Abdulrahman Shehadeh, Chairman of Philadelphia Solar Company and a number of industry leaders.
