Kuwait has issued tenders for the construction of three power plants at its oil fields which are undergoing development, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

State-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), which manages the Gulf country’s upstream oil sector, issued the tenders for the three projects at oil gathering facilities 15 and 25, the Arabic language daily Alanba said, citing KOC sources.

The projects are part of KOC’s plans to develop oil facilities and boost crude output capacity, mainly in Northern oil fields.

KOC is also planning to build two other power sub-stations in its oil areas of Dharif and Abdaliyya in West Kuwait, the paper said without providing further details.
