Attesting to its robust commitment to serve the nation, Oman LNG inked five key agreements with the Ministry of Social Development to finance a number of community projects and initiatives.

Key among these pacts is an agreement to fund the installation of solar panels at the buildings of 32 branches of Omani Women’s Association (OWA) across the country. A number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will receive contracts to to supply and install these solar panels.

In the second agreement, Oman LNG will fund a leadership and management training programme for various Omani Women’s Associations. Such programmes will provide training opportunities for 195 women in various fields, including; leadership, innovation, financial management, and in media and technology fields.

Highlighting the company’s continuous efforts to support the health sector, the third agreement involves financing the “We are with you” campaign, which targets diabetic children from the low-income and social security. Through this agreement, Oman LNG aims to provide blood glucose metres and scales diabetics, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and General Directorates of Health Services in different governorates. The objective of this agreement is not limited to raising awareness on the importance of regular checkups for diabetes but also finding suitable mechanisms to reduce the risks of neglecting observance of high blood sugar levels.

The fourth agreement commits Oman LNG to funding the purchase of modern equipment for the Al Noor Association for the Blind in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The equipment includes financing modern audio devices and braille devices to facilitate a better learning environment for visually-impaired students in higher education institutions and simplify the storage of information and conversion of files in braille.

The fifth agreement pertains to the establishment of a pilot project to support livestock breeders in the South Sharqiyah Governorate through the Omani Agricultural Association. This project will enable the provision of latest innovative agricultural procedures, and thus supports the country’s vision of achieving self-sufficiency and reducing the increasing cost of fodder, as the initiate will produce green fodder with high nutritional value at low costs whilst maintaining sustainability.

Dr Amor al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation, said: “Since its inception, Oman LNG through its Development Foundation has placed great emphasis on supporting various social development programmes and initiatives for the benefit of the community. The agreements signed today confirm our consistent efforts to serve the community, and meet its expectations and aspirations.”
