Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Monday announced through his official twitter account that a new government job has been created and it comes with a benefits package worth 1 million dirhams ($272,300).

“We are looking for hope makers in the Arab World,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted, along with the requirements for the new position, which many would consider to be ‘the dream job’.

-The applicant should master the skills of serving people and should have undertaken at least one initiative in volunteer, charity or humanitarian work that aims to make people happy.

-The candidate should be well-reputed, with good moral conduct and standing in society, and be a positive and firm believer in the potential of people of the Arab world.

-The position is open for all the citizens in the Arab world between the ages of 5 and 95 years old.

The job description added that people can nominate themselves or nominate others and should send their CVs to www.arabhopemakers.com, with the applications being accepted from 4pm on Tuesday. Applicants were told to contact Ahmed Alshuqairy for further details.

This latest announcement was part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, which aims to improve the Arab world through humanitarian, developmental and community work.

Earlier this month, Sheikh Mohamad also launched a new initiative called ‘10X’, telling each government entity to think outside the box and come up with three initiatives a year that will place Dubai ahead of other cities. (Read more here)
