Muscat: The Technical Committee following with implementation of National Programme for Decent Work held its first meeting in the presence of representative of the Ministry of Manpower, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Federation Of Oman Trade Unions.

The meeting discussed efforts for development of the labour market system in the Sultanate with the expertise of International Labour Organisation in order to overcome the potential challenges to the labour market.

The National Programme for Decent Work is the key tool, the International Labour Organisation uses to develop the labour system for its member states

It is worth mentioning that in 2017 the Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Manpower, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the General Federation Of Oman Trade Unions, had signed the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Labour Organisation for the execution of the National Programme for Decent Work.
