Abu Dhabi: The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) is currently showcasing a wide range of projects at the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), which is being held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of Emirates Falconers' Club. ADIHEX kicked off on Tuesday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center and will conclude on August 31, 2019. KFED is showcasing 14 projects under its umbrella at the event, as well as products of Sougha with the assistance of Emirati craftswomen who are in turn selling and promoting their handicrafts and skills in Sadou and Talli.
KFED’s involvement at ADIHEX 2019 is part of its commitment to support entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by promoting their products and services in various national and regional exhibitions and events; ultimately helping projects succeed and open an array of new opportunities in local, regional and international markets.
Mouza Al Nasri, Acting Chief Executive Officer of KFED, said that KFED is participating to promote range of projects that it supports, covering various sectors such as industry, trade, hospitality and food and beverages, as well as products of the Fund's Sougha Establishment.
She added: “We make sure that all projects we support are given a chance to participate and be exposed in local, regional, and international events as part of our ongoing pledge to help SMEs and enable them to achieve their desired success. ADIHEX is a leading platform that allows entrepreneurs and SMEs to connect with key figures in various fields, expand their business, and promote their products and services to sustain and develop their projects that help drive the national economy.”
KFED’s exhibition stand in this year's event features a variety of projects across sectors that it supports. It houses ‘Al Diyafa Hotel & Catering Supplies’, one of the leading distributors of catering equipment in Abu Dhabi; ‘Royal Horses’, a company involved in wholesale trading of horse and camel racing materials and outfits; ‘Black Café Food Stuff & Catering’, a mobile coffee shop (truck) that serves the finest cold and hot drinks, desserts, and fresh cakes; ‘Cloud9 Pet Hotel & Care’, the first luxury pet hotel in the Middle East; ‘New Step Solar Energy’, which was established in 2013 to work in the field of solar energy and LED lighting; ‘Danat Food Industries’, a locally established company specializing in packaging, marketing, and delivering pancakes, spices, herbal medicines, and traditional UAE plates; and ‘Antonio Grand Bottier’, which sells Arabic and European leather products.
Other exhibitors include ‘Maamal Nahel Foodstuff Est’, a leading player in the GCC food industry; ‘Thahab Lawal Jewellery’, which designs and creates modern jewellery with a touch of Emirati identity and heritage; ‘Amazoon pets’ for birds trading, which provides the world’s best pet breeding products; ‘Liwa Oasis for Picnic’, a one-stop shop that provides customers with camping, off-road, motorcycle, and safety products in one convenient location; ‘Liwa dates’ for food industries; ‘Cluster Clear Events’, which offers photography services for all events; and ‘Tasleeh Entertainment Systems’, which launched the world’s first airsoft battle zone.
‘Sougha Establishment’ is also participating in the exhibition. ‘Sougha’ initially began as Khalifa Fund’s social initiative in 2009 to revive the Emirati heritage by providing training support to local artisans as well as create sustainable entrepreneurship opportunities across the UAE. As this initiative grew, it became a brand-based institution in just one year -- handling about 300 craftsmen across the country. KFED allocated a capital of AED 1 million for ‘Sougha’ to promote Emirati handicrafts and heritage, preserve the UAE culture, and train the local craftsmen and craftswomen to turn their skills into real occupations in which they can earn a monthly income.
The projects supported by the Abu Dhabi Businesswomen Council are also part of KFED’s pavilion. These are ‘Basma Heritage’, which provides services for events, celebrations and exhibitions; and ‘Atyab Tayeb,’ which sells perfumes. In addition, ‘Ride Track’, a Dubai SME-supported project which offers horse riding products and equipment, is taking part in the pavilion. Meanwhile, KFED has a reception desk to provide assistance to ADIHEX’s visitors.
The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2019 aims to promote the UAE’s heritage and traditions by highlighting its rich history and culture. It also seeks to make Abu Dhabi the cultural capital of the region. The exhibition provides an ideal opportunity for companies to raise awareness of their brands, expand their customer base, connect with serious buyers, and launch new products and services, and reach more than 110,000 visitors from around the world.
