KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait General Administration of Customs (KGAC) has banned the import of gas cylinders and regulators except those imported by Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC), reports Al-Rai daily.

KGAC decision number 61 of 2021 is based on an official letter that KOTC sent in May, affirming it is the only entity authorized to import and distribute liquefied gas cylinders and their accessories.

The administration affirmed that the liquefied gas regulators and pipes approved by the company comply with international safety standards and are subject to several checks to ensure their suitability for safe use, while the company’s logo is affixed to these products to protect consumers from the risk of trading with unaccredited entities.

Accordingly, the company requested for the abovementioned ban to protect lives and public properties.
