AMMAN - The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) on Monday conducted an information session on its Transforming Invention Models into Commercial Projects-Commercialisation Programme.

The aim is to help enable pioneers and entrepreneurs to convert their invention models into economically feasible production projects, JEDCO’s CEO Bashar Al Zoubi said in a statement on Monday.

It also aims to help them register the intellectual property of their inventions at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, offer new creative products with high added value and high growth opportunities that meet the needs of the local market and create new jobs.

The programme began receiving applications on Sunday and will offer JD40,000 in financial grants on a competitive basis to 10 projects, the statement said.

JEDCO will conduct information sessions on the programme in Irbid and Karak during the coming days in order to introduce the mechanism of applying for technical and financial support, Al Zoubi said. JEDCO is the national umbrella for economic enterprise development in Jordan.
