Program launches in the presence of Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi

The opening ceremony for the 4th edition of the Abdulaziz bin Humaid Leadership Program took place at Fairmont Ajman Hotel yesterday, and was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, HE Mohammed Al Shaali, Founder and Chairman of Gulf Craft, HE Salem Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Yahya Al Jasmi, Managing Director of Ajman Holding, and a representative of Thumbay Group.

His Highness Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Abdulaziz bin Humaid Leadership Program (ALP), said that the Program has achieved overwhelming success in its last three editions and has been a source of pride and inspiration for its organisers.

Commenting on ALP, His Highness said, “This programme has provided a great opportunity for aspiring GCC youth to develop their skills and knowledge for successful future careers in leadership.”

Also present at the ceremony were members of the Abduaziz Bin Humaid Foundation’s board of directors: Mr Humaid Yousef Al Ajmani, HE Salem Al Zuaabi and Mrs Enas Abu Shashia, as well as representatives of ALP, the partners and supporting organisations, trainers and lecturers, graduates of the previous programs, participants of this year’s program, representatives of the employers of the participants, and media representatives.

His Highness extended thanks and appreciation to the sponsors and partners for their outstanding efforts, especially strategic partner and official sponsor, Ajman Holding. This year's supporting sponsors are Gulf Craft, Thumbay Group and Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Emirates Foundation and the King Khalid Charitable Foundation.

Suad Al Zuaabi, Board Member of Abdulaziz bin Humaid Foundation, said that the Program aims to empower talented young people from all the GCC countries with the knowledge and skills they require to advance economic and social development.

She added that the Program is open to all GCC nationals, both men and women, between the ages of 25 and 35, who possess the drive and talent to succeed in a leadership role. Candidates must have a background in diverse fields, have a higher diploma, a minimum of two years’ work experience, English skills, and be currently employed.

She further explained that the Program features training in core competencies such as creativity and innovation, strategic management, change management, emotional intelligence and personal development plan among many more modules. Supplementary modules include etiquette and protocol, health and protocol, media coaching and many more.

Over a period of six months, six hours per day for give working days per month, successful candidates will receive in-depth training in key areas of leadership in a carefully designed programme comprising both classroom and experience-based instruction, preparing them for a rapidly evolving world.

In his motivational speech, Mohammed Qahtani, winner of Toastmasters International World Champion of Public Speaking 2015, stressed the importance of leadership in making a social change. “Leadership is the cornerstone of ALP, an initiative that has attracted the attention of both individuals and corporations. It is a great opportunity for young people to develop their skills and gain knowledge and experience for a better future,” he said.

Shaima Al Mazroue from the KSA, a graduate of the third edition of the Program and a consultant of Human Resources at the GCC General Secretariat, was selected to be the Master of Ceremony.
