• The newly appointed main contractor will build the first 300-villas for first phase development amid Abu Dhabi’s majestic mangroves
  • The dream AED5 billion development at the heart of the capital will offer a stunning refuge minutes from the city centre, offering unrivalled natural beauty and an array of business, cultural and entertainment destinations within easy reach

Abu Dhabi: Jubail Island Investment Company today announced it has awarded the showpiece construction contract for the first phase of 300 villas to Arabian Construction Company (ACC) in a move that will realise the dream of creating a luxury community at the heart of Abu Dhabi.

It is a landmark step towards bringing luxury living allied with pristine natural beauty to the heart of Abu Dhabi, managed by leading UAE master-developer LEAD.

Amid Jubail Island’s sprawling mangrove park and underscoring the developer’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainable living, the masterplan – which will be home to more than 5,000 residents – will become an iconic, signature destination for the community of the capital.

The contract award was driven by the impressive pre-sales achieved to date and, with 60 per cent of infrastructure already completed, this means ground-breaking can proceed this month on the project’s first phase of 300 modern and Mediterranean-inspired villas on the stunning Jubail Island development, which is due for completion in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The AED5 billion Jubail Island development will be an idyllic collection of villages located between Yas Island and Saadiyat Island and will become Abu Dhabi’s leading sanctuary designed to appeal to wellness and nature enthusiasts, positioned amid the rich biodiversity of the mangroves.

Covering more than 45 million square meters, and offering restaurants, a beach club, business centre, sports facilities, schools and nurseries, as well as a community club, and specialised clinics, Jubail Island will be an iconic new addition to Abu Dhabi’s residential landscape.

With each of its villages boasting its own identity and elegant design, Jubail Island will offer residents a choice of luxurious, elegantly designed villas, apartments and townhouses, all meticulously constructed ample distances apart, to allow for optimum privacy and comfort.

The first 300 villas to be created in Phase 1 represent the first move towards creating a low-density project offering three to six bedroom villas on vast land plots from 1,300 sqm to 6,000 sqm. The next construction phases of the project will be announced in due course.

Mounir Haidar, Managing Director of Jubail Island Investment Company, said: “We are delighted to partner with Arabian Construction Company to build the first phase of this iconic and unique development to discerning homeowners, which is located right in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Their reputation and expertise allied with a proven track record of delivering to the highest quality standards on time are a perfect fit with our own meticulous approach to excellence.

“We have assembled a world-class design, consultancy and construction team including Ramon Esteve Estudio, EHAF, SHH and WSA, that will deliver unrivalled luxury and premium community living, with a low-impact and low-density settlement footprint that was created in mind to cater for Emirati lifestyle preferences.

“With construction underway, the first tranche of 300 villas on Jubail Island will be ready by the fourth quarter of 2023 and we are pleased that our vision to offer unparalleled natural beauty and quality of lifestyle in one unique development is one step closer to realisation. We are positive that Jubail Island will be the most sought-after residences in the capital and we look forward to making more exciting announcements about this wonderful project in the future.”
