Cairo –The Egyptian cabinet approved a new economic stimulus package to boost tourism in the winter season.

The unprecedented decisions will be applied during the period from 1 November 2020 to 30 April 2021, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The incentives include the extension of exemption from visa fees for tourists coming to South Sinai, Red Sea, Luxor, and Aswan governorates until the end of April 2021 and disbursement of aids to workers in the tourism sector from April until December 2020.

The government also renewed its approval for the deferral of utility payments for tourism establishments and hotels until the end of next December.

In addition, overdue payments owed by tourism establishments and hotels before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have been rescheduled to be paid starting from January 2021.
