ArabFinance: State-run EgyptAir and low-cost carrier Air Cairo signed a codeshare agreement to expand their networks, according to a September 1stpress release.

The move is considered the first step of cooperation between the two airlines, in line with the memorandum of understanding previously inked on May 7th.

“The implementation of the codeshare agreement is scheduled to commence during winter season 2020/2021,” EgyptAir stated.

Air Cairo code will be placed on EgyptAir domestic flights between Cairo and Aswan, Luxor, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada, Assiut, Alexandria, as well as Sohag. The code will also be placed on international flights with Rome, Milan, Bahrain, and Copenhagen.

The hybrid carrier Air Cairo will provide EgyptAir customers with flights from Sharm el Sheikh to Italy’s Naples and Bari, Armenia’s Yerevan, and Georgia’s Tbilisi.

Air Cairo will also offer flights from Hurghada to Yerevan, Tbilisi, and Serbia’s Belgrade; from Sohag and Assiut airports to Jeddah and Riyadh.

Egypt’s flag carrier has recently activated a baggage tracking service for all its passengers.
