MANAMA: Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), the real estate arm of Mumtalakat – the sovereign wealth fund, has signed leases with six new tenants who will be opening outlets at Sa’ada Waterfront.

Food World, CrossFit Muharraq, Bunzz Food Truck, Kushari Boulevard, Qahwa & Karak and Karam Al Bahrain are the new tenants joining the first tenant, Naseef Café, which opened its first café in Fareej Al Fadhel in 1920.

Food World Group is a family business based in Bahrain that owns and operates a chain of supermarkets, department stores and cafes.

Located in a 503 sqm facility with waterfront views, CrossFit Muharraq is expected to open shortly as the fit-outs are already well underway.

The strength and conditioning facility is located in one of seven buildings in the project primarily dedicated to wellness and fitness.

At Sa’ada, Bunzz Food Truck will launch its first outlet in Bahrain, while Kushari Boulevard will open its second branch, and Qahwa & Karak will expanding to their third.

All three food and beverage businesses are expected to open in first quarter 2020.

Spread over an area of 570 sqm, Karam Al Bahrain will open its first branch in the second half of 2020.

The restaurant will introduce a new concept, offering Mediterranean and traditional Syrian cuisine.

Billed as a vibrant lifestyle development project providing a community space that combines a family entertainment centre with retail and tourism, Sa’ada Waterfront is expected to open its door to customers this month.

“We are extremely pleased to sign with a number of tenants from various sectors. With Sa’ada Waterfront we wanted to create a vibrant atmosphere and shared space for the entire community to enjoy,” said Edamah chief executive Amin Alarrayed.

“It is a truly unique project featuring public promenades and offering visitors the opportunity to spend the day enjoying cafes, restaurants and entertainment and wellness facilities with waterfront views all in a single place. The construction is now complete and around 30 per cent of commercial units are leased,” he added.

The first phase of the Sa’ada project comprises a public promenade and plaza overlooking the sea, complete with indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The second phase will feature a multi-storey car park with 202 spaces, as well as a marina consisting of 37 berths for boats of various sizes.
