During the honouring ceremony, H.E. HamadBuamim, President and CEO,Dubai Chamber, congratulated the 18honourees for their dedication to integrate CSR into their governance and strategy.

These businesses are leading by example and helping to spread awareness about the importance of having CSR goals and objectives which he said leads to increased demand for their products while enhancing the companies' reputation in the market place as responsible business organisations as well as boosting consumer confidence in their trading circle.

''The Dubai Chamber CSR Label is indeed a first-of-its-kind programme developed in the Middle East to help companies apply responsible business practices while inspiring other like-minded organisations in the sphere of CSR and sustainability to follow suit,'' he said.

The CSR Label's popularity can be gauged from the number of companies across Dubai and the GCC which are incorporating CSR, with success, and they are applying new trends and techniques from across the world, said H.E. Buamim.

The President and CEO of Dubai Chamber expressed his happiness in the CSR Label initiative launched way back in 2010 by the Chamber's Centre for Responsible Business initiative which marked its 10th anniversary last year and has launched many key initiatives that have helped to lead and promote CSR in Dubai.

On their part, the honourees lauded the role of Dubai Chamber in allowing them a framework to define and improve their corporate social responsibility performance as well as the opportunity to promote their activities, and to enhance their reputation as leaders in achieving sustainability.

The CSR Label is open to all organisations, private or public, regardless of their size, sector or operations and can make a major difference to a company's reputation, efficiency and productivity and its success depends on how the CSR objectives are set and communicated to all of their stakeholders.
