BEIJING

* China Energy Group has completed construction of the second unit of Indonesia Java 7 coal-fired power project that has an installed capacity of 2.1 gigawatts per annum, the company said in a statement

* The power plant, located in Banten province in Java Island, is expected to generate 15 billion kilowatt-hours electricity each year from the two 1,050-megawatt coal-fired power units, the largest single-unit capacity built by a Chinese firm overseas

* The $1.883 billion project has been jointly funded by China Energy Group and PJBI, a subsidiary of Indonesia's National Electric Power Company, and will be fully controlled by China Energy Group's electricity generating subsidiary, Shenhua Guohua
