LONDON, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Britain called for restraint onThursday after Turkey's military incursion into Syria, warningthat the move risked humanitarian suffering and underming thefight against militants.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said he had spoken to Turkey"to express the UKs disappointment and concern about themilitary incursion into NE Syria, and call for restraint."

"The intervention risks greater humanitarian suffering andundermines the focus on countering Daesh (IS)," he added.

Turkey angrily rejected on Thursday international criticismof its attack on a Kurdish militia in Syria, reporting progressby its forces on the second day of an operation that worldpowers fear could further destabilise the region.
