Amman - Inspired by the boundless potential and ambition of women throughout Jordan, Bank al Etihad launched the second edition of its Shorouq Career Comeback Program. Organized under the Shorouq platform, the comprehensive training and rehabilitation program is the first of its kind in the Kingdom to prepare women to re-enter the workforce after taking time off to care for their families.

Commencing on 9 September, the Shorouq Career Comeback Program will run over the course of three months at Bank al Etihad. 20 women - whose CVs matched the training prerequisites - will be coached in fields relevant to their former experiences. This covers developing their personal and practical skills, participating in orientation sessions with specialized trainers, as well as undergoing in-house training within various Bank al Etihad departments, under the supervision and guidance of the Bank’s employees for the duration of the Program.

Last year, 19 determined women successfully resumed their careers after partaking in the first edition of the Shorouq Career Comeback Program - with more than 45% securing permanent employment in different companies right after completing the program. The remarkable results achieved during the previous cycle have reaffirmed the pressing need for similar inclusive rehabilitation programs that provide women across the Kingdom with the chance to return to and excel within today’s job market.
