The BMMI Group has distributed essential household appliances and electronic devices to disadvantaged families who are amongst the most vulnerable segments of the population during these challenging times as the world continues to combat the outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of its commitment to support the local community, BMMI’s outreach project saw the distribution of crucial household appliances to families across Bahrain’s four governorates. Altogether, 230 families were supported with appliances that included refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, ovens and more.

The BMMI Group worked with various entities including NGOs, charities and official bodies, such as Tree of Life and the Capital Governorate.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the Rotary Clubs in Bahrain and Rotaract Bahrain, BMMI supported a project that saw 120 students receive laptops to ensure they are able to continue their education through remote learning, in line with governmental social distancing guidelines in this respect.

The Group firmly believes in its responsibility to support the communities it operates in, said BMMI CEO, Mr Marek Sheridan. “BMMI has always been committed to supporting the local community, and we are more adamant than ever during these challenging times to make a positive difference, wherever we can,” said Mr Sheridan.

“Contributing to support the livelihood of disadvantages families, as well as enabling students to continue their education are just some of the areas where we can give back to the community” added Mr Sheridan. “The BMMI Board of Directors believe firmly in our responsibility to give back   and I am incredibly proud of how our team have responded and rallied behind these initiatives with all their hard work helping ensure the families and students received the support where it was most needed.”

BMMI will always seek opportunities to make a positive impact wherever it can, added Reem Al Tajer, BMMI Corporate Social Responsibility Partner. “We will continue to seek out sustainable ways to leave an enduring, positive impact on members of our community,” said Ms Al Tajer.  “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all partners that assisted in ensuring the successful implementation of this project, including the various charities, NGOs and governmental entities we worked with,” she added.
