Dubai, 12 March 2017

The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), hosted an invitation-only event, aimed at business CEOs and government leaders, on Thursday March 9th. The aim of the event was to discuss the benefits of accelerating the digital transformation in business to ensure continued competitiveness for its clients. The event was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dubai, and CEOs from a variety of industries were in attendance. Innovative digital disruption, the key pillars of digital transformation, and the importance of the customer journey were some of the topics discussed during the event.

“In the GCC, organizations tend to be understaffed in functions critical to customer experience and digital while overstaffed in business support functions, and this is an aspect that we addressed during the event,” said Joerg Hildebrandt, Senior Partner & Managing Director at BCG Middle East. “Given the rapid pace of digital change, digital transformation must become a key priority for C-level executives in the region if they are to maintain competitiveness.”

The Forum welcomed esteemed speakers from across the globe who discussed the digital imperatives shaping the Middle East. These speakers included Dan Cobley, Former Managing Director of Google UK; Rodrigo Cipriani Foresio Managing Director for Italy, Spain, Portugal & Greece of Alibaba Group; Jeff Schumacher, CEO and Founder of BCG Digital Ventures and Hans-Paul Bürkner, Chairman of The Boston Consulting Group.

“Participating in this leadership event has been very insightful. The initiatives undertaken in the GCC to enhance the concept of digitalization across different industry spectrums to improve efficiency and find new growth for businesses and the population is evident. Creating a practical and sustainable knowledge based digital agenda is key for the region to realize a transformative digitalized future,” said Jeff Schumacher CEO and Founder of BCG Digital Ventures.
