DUBAI, 24rd January, 2016 (WAM) -- In line with the decision of Dubai Health Authority, DHA, to merge health insurance cards with the Emirates Identity Authority ID card, Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance, Aman, a leading company in TAKAFUL Insurance, has completed the merging of its card with the UAE ID card.

Aman is the UAE?s first insurance company to take this step, reflecting its compliance with the strategies of DHA. The authority is seeking to change the insurance systems in the emirate of Dubai to be merged with the ID card, which will replace the insurance card.

Jihad Faitrouni, CEO of Aman, said, "Merging the health insurance card with the ID card will greatly contribute to curbing fraud, waste and misuse of the service. The ID card enables identity verification of the beneficiary registered with the insurance company, as all data will be available on the smart programme once the ID card is swiped on our e-reader." He reiterated the commitment of Aman to provide Takaful insurance services to meet the highest world standards in the field of Islamic insurance and reinsurance. It adopts the strategy to support stability and security of UAE society by providing excellent insurance services.

The Emirates ID card contains the personal information of its holder, including ID number, name, nationality, passport data, digital certificate, and others, alongside the fingerprint and personal picture.

The Emirates Identity Authority holds international standards certification for the ID card, which has multiple applications and matches the general specifications of the International Forum for Smart cards. The card is supported by the most advanced security features meeting international standards for data printed and stored in the embedded electronic chip.

It is also recognition that the UAE ID card conforms to the standards of the International Organisation of Standardisation of ID Card, and the standards of Java Card. It also meets standards and specifications of the Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for travel documents.

The Emirates ID card is also distinguished by its compliance with the Evaluation Assurance Level, EAL5, which is one of the highest levels of chip security, and ensures the utmost protection of data stored on the chip from any manipulation or forgery.
