Abu Dhabi, UAE: Aldar Academies, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain’s leading private education provider, is celebrating a fourth year of rising International Baccalaureate Diploma results at Al Bateen Academy as students surpassed the qualification’s global average results and the school’s 2018 diploma scores.

Al Bateen Academy reported an average point score of 32.4 – exceeding the global figure of 29.7, and a 92 percent pass rate, which is well beyond the 79 percent global average. The 2019 results also see a rise over the school’s 2018 average point score of 32.2 and pass rate of 90 percent. This year also marked a fourth consecutive year where students have recorded a point score of 32 or above.

Filipino Keith Gironella recorded the school’s highest point score of 41, followed closely by Italy’s Antonio De Leo with 40 points. Hamad Al Qubaisi and Alya Al Breiki topped the school’s Emirati cohort, celebrating scores of 37 and 36 respectively.

“I feel so, so happy. Now I’m going on to study Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Claremont McKenna in California,” commented Hamad. “I must thank all my teachers at Al Bateen Academy who have been so supportive throughout my time here.”

Alya Al Breiki added: “I am speechless! I was predicted 32 and achieved 36 points, thanks to a lot of hard work and the guidance of my teachers at Al Bateen Academy. I can’t wait for my next chapter and to start studying Media and Communications at the University of Surrey in the UK.”

“I am delighted that for the fourth consecutive year, students at Al Bateen Academy have achieved significantly above the world average for the IB Diploma, with a year-on-year increase in results. Congratulations to all our students!” commented David Hutson, Al Bateen Academy Principal. “Today is a real testament to the effort of our team and the ethos of excellence we maintain across our school.”

Aldar Academies Al Bateen Academy’s alumni have progressed to continue their education at some of the world’s most respected universities, including UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), University of Bristol, and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD).

“Congratulations to all IB Diploma students at Al Bateen Academy for your fantastic achievement,” commented Stephen Sharples, Aldar Academies’ Director of Education. “We nurture our students with the skills and mindset they need to shape their future, and today’s results are an extremely satisfying way to mark our success in this regard,” added Mr Sharples.

Aldar Academies Al Bateen Academy’s excellent 2019 IB Diploma results come just weeks before the school opens its IB Primary School for the start of the 2019/2020 academic year.
