Upon completion, a strategic pipeline will increase the capacity and safety performance of the underground network and an additional 10,000 properties will be connected to the sewerage system.

Ajman, UAE - As a result of Ajman's steady growth, Ajman Sewerage announced today the commencement of two strategic projects, which will enable the utility company to further expand its network coverage while increasing the overall capacity and safety performance of its wastewater collection and transportation system.

The projects, which are worth AED 75 million, include the construction of a major 10-kilometer sewerage pressure line between Ajman City and Ajman Sewerage's treatment plant, as well as a 40-kilometer sewer gravity network in Ajman's Al Jurf Industrial Zones 1 and 3. After completion, this will enable the utility company to connect and serve about 10,000 existing and future properties, in addition to the 130,000 properties that it currently serves.

Al Marfaa Contracting Company and Darwish Engineering Emirates will undertake the two projects respectively.

"Under the leadership of our Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Sewerage continues investing in its infrastructure as part of providing reliable and hassle-free services to our customers. Ajman Sewerage will also continue to expand the sewerage network in other areas to the benefit of Ajman's residents." said Christophe Ledur, Ajman Sewerage's General Manager.

Other projects in the pipeline include the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant, which was awarded to BESIX/Six Construct in 2015 and is expected to complete by end of this year. This will eventually allow treatment of up to 120 million liters of wastewater every day.

Christophe Ledur also noted that the company continues supporting viable schemes for treated water re-use through either irrigation of green areas in Ajman or other industrial uses.
