Ajman: Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) and Emirates Post Group (EPG), the leading postal and express delivery service provider in the UAE, have reached a joint cooperation agreement to develop their strategic partnership and align efforts and activities across areas of common interest.

The agreement seeks to ensure the best utilisation of capabilities available in areas of human resources and exchange knowledge and expertise to provide AFZ investors with best-in-class services.

The agreement was signed in the presence of an AFZ delegation headed by Mrs. Fatima Mohammed Salem, Acting Director-General of Ajman Free Zone, and EPG representatives led by Acting Chief Commercial Officer of EPG, Mr. Obaid Mohammed Al Qatami.

The agreement addresses ways of cementing mutual understanding and cooperation through an effective regulatory framework conducive to developing ties and enabling the free zone customers to benefit from EPG services.

It envisages improvement of services, including the possibility of enabling the Emirates Post Group to transfer its existing branch to Ajman Free Zone, in a way that enhances its services to the free zone operators in particular and the local community in Ajman in general. This is besides exploring the possibility of providing postal services through the allocation of a PO Box for each licensed facility operating in the free zone.

Fatima Mohammed Salem, Acting Director-General of Ajman Free Zone, underlined the importance of the agreement in bolstering the partnership with EPG and enhancing knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise, including accelerating training and qualification of human cadres.

The agreement reflects AFZ's keenness to provide all tools and services conducive to boosting investor confidence, she noted.

On his part, Al Qatami said that the Emirates Post Group will provide special offers for Ajman Free Zone employees and customers through the office, EPG will open at AFZ. He lauded the agreement as a significant step on the path towards promoting investments in the emirate and the UAE in general.

The two sides agreed to form a joint committee comprising members from Ajman Free Zone and Emirates Post Group, to strengthen synergies and develop the necessary action plans.

It is worth mentioning that such agreements stem from Ajman Free Zone's keenness to grow ties with its partners and exchange knowledge and expertise to enhance the services provided to its investors, which ultimately contributes significantly to fulfilling AFZ's vision and mission to provide best services to its customers and attract new investors.
