Sharjah: The Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC), which operates under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the Arab League, announced the launch of the first-ever application for exhibitions across the Arab world. The application and is featuring the exhibitions and events agenda that is set to be organized in the member states of the union with the aim to provide support to all Arab Exhibitions during their participation in the general and specialized events.

This came during the second periodic meeting of the union for the year 2021 which was held via video conference.

Chaired by HE Saif Muhammad Al-Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences, a member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and CEO of the Expo Center Sharjah, the meeting was attended by Ghassan al-Fakiani, Vice Chairman, AUIEC, members of the Board of Directors, and HE Mahmoud Youssef Al-Jarrah, Secretary-General, AUIEC.

The meeting reviewed the measures and precautions adopted by the union to prevent the spread of coronavirus while organizing the events and exhibitions and discussed the application of a series of unified preventive measures across the member states to further enhance the safety of society.

Debates also touched on the importance of the outputs and the role played by “Al Multaka” (Forum) magazine, the first-ever exhibitions and magazine conferences in the Arab region in terms of covering the Arab specialized exhibitions and promoting them at the global, providing the necessary support to this vital industry, and enhancing the exhibitions and conferences tourism.

For his part, Saif Muhammad Al-Midfa invited the member states to visit the “Expo 2020 Dubai” following the coordination made with the “Expo 2020 Dubai” office to host a delegation from the union to visit the exhibition venue and learn closely about best practices used in organizing this global event next October.

The application comes in Arab and English language and will be soon available on Apple and Google Play stores.
