Essential roadworks costing BD400,000 have started on an infrastructure development project aimed at reducing queues, resolving car parking issues and preventing seasonal flooding at a busy area of Isa Town.

The Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry project should help solve traffic congestion on Route 77 – Ajwad Al Jabri – which is also used as a main entrance to the area’s comprehensive social services complex.

The Isa Town Road 1218 development project includes the construction of a rainwater drainage network and the complete repaving of the road and adding low sidewalks paved with bricks to provide a large number of parking spaces.

It will also include improving lighting and addressing traffic safety concerns with new signs and ground lines.

The project is being implemented through direct contracting with the Abdul Hadi Al Amn Company for Civil Works and the Yoko Company for Asphalt Works at a cost of BD300,000 and BD100,000, respectively.
