San Francisco : Commuting just got easier for many European residents as Moovit, a leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) provider and the world’s #1 urban mobility app, has added dockless scooters to its service thanks to a new partnership with Circ, one of the leading micro-mobility operators in Europe. Commuters can access multiple public and private transit services in the free Moovit app and will discover convenient and more efficient travel options that save them time and reduce the need for a car for first and last mile options.

Dockless transport service is a critical component in any MaaS platform. The multi-modality they offer expands the convenience and cost-effectiveness of public transit for riders everywhere. The wide range of non-fixed route services enables riders to tailor their commutes to their time and their terms, often resulting in shorter journey times. Dockless transit services also tend to be more environmentally-friendly, easing traffic congestion and reducing air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

Thanks to its partnership with Circ, Moovit users will now be able to locate nearby Circ dockless scooters right within the Moovit app. In the first stage of the integration, residents and travelers in six countries can now locate and get around more easily and conveniently. Further countries and features will follow in the coming weeks. The dockless scooters will be listed among other mobility options in the Moovit app.

“As a leading Mobility as a Service provider, it is essential that Moovit provides its users with all the mobility options in their given city. That’s why we are excited to partner with a strong micro-mobility player across Europe, like Circ,” said Yovav Meydad, Chief Growth and Marketing Officer at Moovit. “Public transit, combined with micro-mobility options, offers users all the options they need to get to their destination quickly and efficiently.”

“We are always looking for new ways to serve our users with more convenient and better-connected journeys. That is why we are excited to partner with Moovit, a global leader in route planning and public transit integrations. With this partnership, Circ and Moovit will work together to drive the use of public transport through an integrated solution for the ‘last-mile’ from the metro station to your front door” said Benedict Counsell, Global Head of Partnerships for Circ.

Moovit simplifies urban mobility around the world, making getting around town via transit and multi-modal services easier and more convenient. By combining information from public transit operators and authorities with live information from the user community, Moovit offers travelers a real-time picture, including the best route for the journey, service alerts, and get off notifications. Moovit has more than half a billion users and more than 100 cities and global events, including Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympics, have made Moovit their official transit app.
