Bawadi Mall is lining up more fun and exciting activities this year after ending 2019 stronger. Last year, the largest shopping mall in Al Ain hosted a string of events and opened new top-of-the-line stores to cater to the varied needs of its steadily rising shoppers and visitors.

Bassam Saleh, Director of Marketing, said that the management, in collaboration with different stores, is planning unique activities and special offerings for visitors of all ages throughout the year.

“The year 2020 is going to be more unique and promising for us at Bawadi Mall, especially in light of two major national developments. One is the newest policy of the UAE Government granting a five-year visa to tourists, while the second one is the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai, which is being touted as the world’s greatest show. As a result, the influx of visitors to the UAE will be massive and we are confident that this will also lead to higher footfall for us,” Saleh said.

He added: “We are ready to showcase events and activities that will reflect the country’s rich history and great progress. To attract more shoppers and visitors, we will leverage our gains in 2019, a period during which we accomplished a lot and further cemented our status as one of the ultimate shopping, dining, and leisure destinations at the local and national levels. We spectacularly concluded 2019 and we aim to surpass our past achievements this 2020.”

Last year, the 140,000-square-metre Bawadi Mall opened four fashion stores, four food and beverage outlets, three beauty and cosmetic outlets and four different store categories to serve more shoppers and diners. Coinciding with the inauguration of the new stores was the re-opening of redesigned establishments. The new shops at Bawadi Mall reflected not only the vibrant business environment in Al Ain but also the sustained trust of many brands in Bawadi Mall, according to Saleh.

The mall also staged a host of thrilling events in 2019 - the most prominent of which were ‘Around the World,’ ‘RAD Sales,’ and ‘The Winter Wonderland’ – which featured fun-filled initiatives as well as huge discounts and special offerings launched by many outlets.

Baby Race 4 as well as LOGO’s Game were some of the mall’s unique campaign activities in 2019. The competition for toddlers saw 240 babies aged 6 to 16 months from different countries taking part in the cutest race ever. On the other hand, LOGO’s Game, Bawadi Mall’s own unique game, is a fresh and innovative idea to play and win by turning the mall’s floor map into a real boardgame.  Most well-known brands sponsored the game last year. Other premier activities in 2019 were the exciting BeyBattle Burst-Road to South Korea Tournament and the “Spring Festival.”

The ‘Happy Monday’ campaign was unveiled during the previous year as well. Since December 2, 2019, the shopping centre has been offering special promos in many of its 400 establishments during the special day only.

In a bid to help promote Abu Dhabi’s tourism industry, the management partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism to organize activities celebrating Abu Dhabi Family Week.

Moreover, 2019 was a year when the famous characters of YouTube’s popular Arabic kids’ show “Fozi Mozi & Tutti” visited Bawadi Mall. During their visit, the characters provided a memorable experience to all shoppers and visitors from the UAE and beyond.

“These undertakings had been a significant factor in our growth in 2019. In 2020, we will continue to step up our game to provide all our guests with cutting-edge experience,” Saleh concluded.
