DUBAI, UAE: The Middle East’s first and largest digital health platform, Altibbi, has signed an agreement with Reckitt, manufacturers of Dettol, Durex, Gaviscon and Strepsils and many other household brands to educate consumers on Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Sore Throat Management, Hygienic Habits and Sexual Well-being in the Middle East region.

The strategic collaboration will provide consumers with regular guidance, consultation support, online episodes plus Q&As with renowned doctors, articles, and reviews on common health-related issues, with a focus on the overuse of strong medicines such as antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

In addition, Reckitt is also partnering with Altibbi Mama, the first app of its kind designed for new mothers, as a founding partner.

“At Reckitt, we want to use the power of our brands to protect, heal, and nurture individuals, families, and communities to live cleaner and healthier lives through our products and initiatives. Our brands like Dettol, Strepsils, Gaviscon, and Durex have a clear purpose and role to play in society and with a platform like Altibbi, we can educate consumers better on the immediate line of action for prevention and treatment when it comes to common health concerns. We have a commitment to invest & support digital transformation in healthcare and telemedicine is an integral part of this. We are glad to be a founder partner with Altibbi to help people in the Arab world”, said Imran Yousuf, Marketing Director, Reckitt Middle East.

According to Altibbi research, more than 70% of physician visits in the Arab world are unnecessary and increase the burden on the health system. As we reel from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, access to a strong and reliable network of health care practitioners is more important than ever. Reckitt will support the training and facilitation of health experts and drive a purpose-driven approach aimed at greater awareness and transparency.

Founder & CEO of Altibbi, Mr. Jalil Allabadi added, “We are pleased that a renowned multinational such as Reckitt has chosen Altibbi for a long-term partnership, building on the collective success we have achieved amid the Covid-19 crisis. We have a history of working with Reckitt brands to spread awareness about common health concerns and are proud of the milestones we have crossed so far. Through Gaviscon, we have spread awareness about digestive maladies, reaching more than 3 million unique users across UAE and KSA and are most proud of managing to break inhibitions & psychological barriers preventing users from seeking sexual healthcare. Durex’s sponsorship has allowed us to offer free health consultations, enabling people to receive reliable medical opinions confidentially.”

Altibbi is the first platform in the Arab world that provides remote medical consultations and allows patients to communicate with certified doctors directly with a phone call or text conversation. Al-Tibbi also works on more than a million pages of Arabic medical content over the Internet and provides reliable medical information to those who need it, in addition to providing online medical consultations for Arabs around the world.
