Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday in positive territory, encouraged by the growth of six sectors.

The general index rose 0.57%, or 55.71 points, to close the mid-week session at 9,858.34 points.

The bourse’s liquidity decreased to QAR 189 million on Tuesday from QAR 231.3 million on Monday, while the trading volume levelled down to 5.6 million shares against 6.5 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’S gainers adding 2.07% on the back of Ezdan Holding Group’s 3.26% increase.

Similarly, the banking sector grew 0.78% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) levelled up 0.57%.

On the other hand, the industrial sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.36% as Qatar Electricity and Water Company retreated 1.03%.

By the end of the session, QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 40.9 million, while Ezdan Holding Group’s stock headed the market in terms of trading volume with 794,200 shares.
