Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 106.10 points , 0.98 percent last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,925.40 points. Trading value last week increased by 55.49 percent to reach QR2.08bn compared to QR1.33bn. Trading volume increased by 56.03 percent to reach 56.56 million shares, as against 36.25 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 53.10 percent, to reach 26,109 transactions as compared to 17,054 transactions. Market cap rose by 1.62 percent to reach QR588.81bn as compared to QR579.41bn at the end of the previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 25.7 percent of the total traded value. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.12 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.21 percent and Industries sector accounted for 14.83 percent. 

Real Estate sector led traded volume last week with 30.94 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 19.17 percent. Telecoms sector accounted for 14.42 percent and Industries sector accounted for 11.71 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 26.12 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 19.69 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.01 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.14 percent. Of the 44 listed companies 29 ended last week higher, while 14 fell and one unchanged. Barwa Real Estate led traded value last week with 9.41 percent of the total traded value. Medicare Group accounted for 8.52 percent and QNB accounted for 6.56 percent, reports QNA. 

However, when compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 27.26 points, or 0.25 percent yesterday. The volume of shares traded decreased to 11.24 million from 13.80 million on Wednesday and the value of shares declined to QR454.04m from QR490.05m on the previous day. Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 39 saw trading yesterday. Of these 16 gained and 21 companies closed lower, two remained unchanged. Indices of three sectors ended in green and remaining four sectors ended red yesterday. QSE Total Return Index decreased 0.21 to 17,810.49 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost 0.01 percent to 4,186.78 points and QSE All Share Index down 0.13 percent to 3,022.15 points.
