A Russian firm, called The Space Food Laboratory, will be preparing traditional Arabic dishes for the astronaut, Hazza Al Mansoori, who will be heading to the International Space Station (ISS) on September 25 for an eight-day trip.
According to a document obtained by Sputnik, traditional Arabic dishes will be made available for Al Mansoori, including canned halal food, balaleet, saluna and madrouba.
This is the first time an Arab astronaut will be going to ISS. Al Mansoori, a former military pilot, will also give an introductory tour of the ISS in Arabic.
He will launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome onboard the Soyuz MS-15 mission and will be accompanied with Russian cosmonaut Oleg Skripochka and American astronaut Jessica Meir, who is also going to space for the first time.
