ABU DHABI- The UAE Public Prosecution has explained the penalties for threatening others using weapons or models and structures simulating weapons.

In a post on its social media accounts today, the Public Prosecution said that, according to Article 57 of Federal Decree-Law No. (17) of 2019 Concerning Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives, Military Hardware and Hazardous Materials, any person who uses weapons or models and structures simulating or are designed to resemble weapons or explosives to threaten others shall be punished with imprisonment and a fine, or either of them.

The same punishment shall apply to any person who seeks to convert non-firearms into firearms without a licence.

These posts are part of the Public Prosecution's efforts to heighten legal culture and awareness among members of the public.
