An event at a mall in Dubai was shut down as authorities stepped up Covid-19 safety inspections.

The Dubai Municipality said on Saturday that a salon in Jebel Ali was also shut.

In its daily inspection report, the Dubai Municipality said it conducted 222 inspection visits. The entities inspected registered a safety compliance rate of 94 per cent.

The civic body also issued nine warnings on the day.
