UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s inflation rate has fallen in June by 1.49% in June as compared to the same month of 2018, according to data issued by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA).

Month-on-month, the state’s consumer price index (CPI) inched down by 0.03% last June, the state-run statistics agency said.

Prices in the housing, water, electricity, and gas segment’s services shrank 0.72% on a monthly basis in June 2019, while the tobacco and the telecommunication prices slid by 0.28% and 0.04%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the prices of the education services within the country remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the prices of food and beverages, transportation services, and ready-made clothing and footwear increased by 0.61%, 0.38%, and 0.32%, respectively.

It is worth noting that inflation rose across the emirates of the UAE last June, except for the capital.

Inflation rate in Umm Al Quawain went up 0.53%, while it grew by 0.45% in Fujairah in June 2019.

Similarly, the inflation rate in Ras al Khaimah, Ajman, and Sharjah rose 0.39%, 0.12%, and 0.01%, respectively, while it shed in Aby Dhabi by 0.22%.
