Egypt - Suez Canal’s revenues increased slightly by 11.2% year-on-year (YoY) during the period from January until August 2021, chairman of Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie said in a call interview to a local TV channel.

Revenues stood at $3.88 billion during the January-August period of 2021, compared to revenues of $3.49 billion, Reuters reported, citing Rabie.

As for the fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, Suez Canal has generated revenues of $5.84 billion, growing marginally from $5.84 billion in FY 2019/2020.

It is worth noting that nearly 9,800 ships have crossed the canal in the first half (H1) of 2021, compared to almost 9,500 in the year-ago period.
