Riyadh – Saudi Arabia’s wholesale price index rose by 11.9% in September this year, compared to the same month in 2020, according to official data on Thursday.
The increase of the index last September was mainly due to 20.7% higher prices of other transportable goods.
Chemicals prices were the highest during September with 92%, while refined petroleum products prices increased by 24.2%.
The wholesale prices meanwhile were up by 0.5% compared to August, according to the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).
The monthly rise mainly resulted from higher other transportable goods prices by 0.6%, due to a 3.4% increase in the prices of basic chemicals.
GaStat also unveiled that Saudi Arabia’s consumer price index (CPI) was up 0.6% on an annual basis in September.
