Cairo –   Revenues from Egypt’s Suez Canal rose by 5.6% or $24.3 million year-on-year during February 2020, head of Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabie said.

The revenues amounted to $458.2 million last month, compared to $433.9 million in the same month a year earlier, Rabie added in a statement on Sunday.

A total of 1,525 ships crossed the Suez Canal in both directions, up by 12.7% year-on-year from February 2018, he pointed out.

Net tonnage reached 99.8 million tonnes last month, up from 88.5 million tonnes in the same month a year earlier.
