Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to extend the measures taken to limit the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on economy for six months until the end of 2021.

The CBE will extend the waiver of fees and commissions on EGP-denominated bank transfers, mobile transfers, and ATM withdrawals as well as the issuance of electronic wallets and contactless cards for free until 31 December 2021, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The waived fees and commissions on pension card withdrawals from ATMs will be borne by the CBE at a value of EGP 60 million to EGP 70 million during the period.
