MANAMA: The Cabinet has emphasised the need to continue pursuing greater women’s advancement across all sections of society.

The session, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, hailed the efforts of the Supreme Council for Women, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and council president, in spearheading the empowerment of Bahraini women.

The weekly meeting, held remotely, also praised the Crown Prince Prime Minister’s directives to provide Formula 1 tickets to frontline health workers and their families in recognition of their incredible contribution to Bahrain’s Covid-19 response.

The session then commended Team Bahrain’s success in hosting the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020 during unprecedented circumstances.

The Cabinet praised efforts of the Coastguard in protecting maritime borders, noting the restraint and professionalism demonstrated by its personnel during the interception of two vessels by Qatari Coast and Border Security patrol vessels in Bahrain’s territorial waters.
