Bringing Covid-19 vaccines to its 19,000 employees across the UAE, hypermarket chain LuLu has set up dedicated centres where staff can easily get the jab.

So far, 90 per cent of the group’s employees had already received the first dose of the vaccine while 40 per cent had been fully vaccinated. LuLu is targeting to get its entire workforce inoculated by the end of the week.

“This initiative is part of our goal to make all our retail and business establishments Covid-free for the health and safety of our shoppers and employees,” said an official from the group.

To make the whole process easy and hassle-free, the group established the vaccination centres from December onwards, with the help of leading healthcare organisations and medical professionals. Today, it now has 12 such centres across at its office premises and staff accommodation compounds across the country.

V. Nandakumar, director of marketing and communications at LuLu group, said: “The health and safety of our staff and customers is of paramount importance to us. This is why we launched a drive to vaccinate all our staff and management team led by our chairman, Yusuffali MA, who was among the first few to get vaccinated, setting an example for the rest of the organisation.

“Thanks to the visionary and compassionate leadership of the UAE…we are really privileged to be here in this great country which has so swiftly and effectively carried out this nationwide vaccination drive for all residents and citizens.”
