Germany's Thyssenkrupp has won an order for two Meko 200 frigates from Egypt

Germany's Thyssenkrupp has won an order for two Meko 200 frigates from Egypt, German daily Handelsblatt reported on Thursday, citing industry sources.

* The value of the deal is around 1 billion euros ($1.14 billion), the paper said.

* It said the contract had been signed but that some details regarding the frigates' equipment as well as financing of the deal still needed to be agreed.

* Thyssenkrupp declined to comment on the report.
